RAWALPINDI: Former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar on Monday broke his silence over Virender Sehwag’s outburst in a TV show.
Sehwag, in an interview with stand-up comedian Vikran Sathaye last week, said that Shoaib Akhtar was praising Indian team for his commercial and business interests.
“Shoaib is given some respect due to his praise for Indian team,” he said amid laughter.
In another interview, Sehwag that he was joking, but it was true.
The swashbuckling Indian player further said that his teammate in Gemini Arabians Rana Naveed ul Hassan was also taking a cue from Shoaib Akhtar.
Akhtar termed Sehwag’s statement as very immature.
“Very immature statement from great player like Sehwag .. That we praise Indian player for the money,” he tweeted.
Minutes later, the pacer deleted his tweet.
