SHARJAH: High flying Peshawar Zalmi has bagged another comprehensive victory to their name by beating Quetta Gladiators, leading team of the event so far, in the 17th match of Pakisan Super League (PSL) T20 at Sharjah Cricket Ground, Sharjah.
Courtesy to thunderous bowling attack especially by Shahid Afridi who outshined others, taking 5 wickets. Quetta Gladiators managed only 130 runs as their batting order crumbled all around them. Zalmis chased down the target with ease at the loss of only two wickets
Gladiators won the toss and opted to bat first. They got off to a steady start but with the onlslaught by Zalmi bowlers increasing, the Gladiator s batsmen quickly caved in, one after another.
Shahid Afridi stole the show, with his deadly bowling attack and some beautiful fielding, managing a run out with a direct hit. Gladiators had no chance whatsoever. Only Elliot managed to punish the Zalmi bowlers a bit, scoring 40 runs off 29 balls.
Zalmi s batting attack on the other hand looked steady as usual and climbed easily towards the target and reaching it comfortably. Malan looked in fine form scoring 60 runs off 52 balls.
Shahid Afridi was awarded the Man of the Match trophy.
