MELBOURNE: Indian star batsman and vice-captain Virat Kohli scaled has achieved another milestone as he has broken South African AB de Villiers’ batting record of Fastest 7000 One Day International runs during the 3rd ODI against Australia at Melbourne Crikcet Ground, Melbourne.
Kohli completed 7,000 runs in ODIs and claimed a record. He reached the milestone in 161 innings (169th match), the fastest (in terms of innings taken) in the world.
Kohli started the 3rd ODI needing 19 runs to reach the landmark. Having arrived at the crease at his usual number 3 spot at the early fall of Rohit Sharma (6), Kohli went past the 7,000-run mark in the 10th over of the innings. He reached there with a boundary off left-arm paceman James Faulkner.
