Pak vs NZ 2nd T20: Time, Venue, Match Preview and Expected Lineup

HAMILTON: After promising victory at Auckland now Green Shirts will take on New Zealand in 2nd of three-match T20 series on January 17 at Seddon Park, Hamilton.

Green shirts will step into the field with a sky-high confidence as they beat the unstoppable Kiwis in their home ground by 16 runs in first T20 match on Friday.

Earlier on Friday, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss on good looking track and put Pakistan to bat first, Green Shirts took full advantage of the chance and set a mammoth total of 171 on the board courtesy to Hafeez’s 61 runs, while all others contributed almost equally, Sohaib Maqsood failed to deliver once again and was sent back to hut even without opening his account on the crease, Milne took 4 from Kiwis’ side.

Tough line and length restricted High-flying New Zealand to just 155 runs and Pakistan won the contest by 15 runs, Wahab Riaz took 3 wickets, Umar Gul took 2 while Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim grabbed one wicket each, Kane Williamson was the man to watch from Kiwis’ side who made well-fought 70 runs but could not take his side over the line.

Shahid Afridi was given the man of the match award for his brilliant all round performance, he made 23 runs at almost strike rate of 300, took two wickets with the ball and grabbed 3 catches in the field although he dropped one important one of Williamson of Amir’s ball but Pakistan made it home safely.

Pakistani skipper had already hinted during the post match ceremony that he will enter with the same squad in second match.

Pakistan Expected XI: Ahmed Shahzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Imad Wasim, Sohaib Maqsood, Umar Akmal, Wahab Riaz, Umar Gul, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Amir.

New Zealand Expected XI: Kane Williamson (captain), Trent Boult, Grant Elliott, Mark Guptill, Matt Henry, Mitchell McClenaghan, Adam Milne, Colin Munro, Luke Ronchi, Ross Taylor, Corey Anderson.

The second match will be crucial for both sides as Pakistan will be looking to grab another victory and take the series, while Black Caps will be looking for a win to level the series.

Match will start at 19:00 local Pm 06:00 Am (GMT) 11:00 Am (PST)
