LAHORE: Young Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir is likely to get his spot in Pakistan side for the New Zealand tour as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Selection Committee has been given green signal over Amir selection from the board.
Chairman Selection Committee Haroon Rashid on Wednesday has claimed that PCB has given its selection committee clearance to select Amir for the tour of New Zealand.
“We have been given the clearance to select Amir for the New Zealand tour,” said Haroon. “Unfortunately though, we aren’t yet sure about his visa due to the ongoing Christmas and New Year vacations. If the travel arrangements are made in time, we are likely to select him,” Haroon said.
Haroon added that Karachi’s left-arm pacer Rumman Raees, who was in consideration for the tour, is out of contention after suffering from a bout of illness. “Rumman is unfortunately down with an infection and will need some time to recuperate,” he said.
