KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Sunday morning has approved an extension in special powers for Sindh Rangers for next two months.

Rangers would be able to take action against matters related to terrorism, sectarian killing, target killing, extortion and kidnapping for ransom under new extension orders.

However the paramilitary force will require a permission from Sindh Chief Secretary before raiding any public office or arresting any government official.

The summary also included several clauses related to special powers of Rangers as given in a resolution approved by Sindh Assembly.

The extension in special powers has been granted with effect from December 6, 2015.

The copy of the order has also been sent to Sindh Ranger and Federal Interior Ministry.
