Hezbollah commander ‘Samir Quntar’ killed in Israelian airstrikes in Syria

DAMASCUS: Samir Quntar, higly ranked commander of Hezbollah has been reportedly killed in the latest airstrikes from Israel in Syria.

According to Foreign media reports, Samir Quntar (also Kuntar) was killed during the Israeli raid which targeted his home in the city of Jaramana located 10 kilometers from the capitalĀ in the Rif Dimashq governorate early on Sunday.

His brother, Bassam Quntar, has announced the his death on his Facebook page and wrote “With pride we mourn the martyrdom of the leader Samir Quntar and we are honored to join families of martyrs,”

It is pertinent tio mention here thatĀ Quntar was released from an Israeli prison during a prisoner swap between Hezbollah and Israel in 2008 after serving 29 years in detention

Also ten more syrian nationals were killed in the attack with dozens injured.
