LG polls: Pakistan Junior hockey team captain dies in Rawalpindi clash

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Junior hockey team captain was killed and two others were wounded on Saturday when two rival groups clashed in Rawalpindi, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

According to police, the deadly clash took place at Union Council 86 between supporters of two independent candidates during polling for the third phase of Local Government elections.

As per reports, a verbal spat between rivals led to gunfire, leaving one man dead instantly.

The victim, identified as Raja Shoaib, Pakistan Junior hockey team captain, was a nephew of former state minister Raja Basharat.
