KARACHI: Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party and close aide of former President Asif Ali Zardari, Dr Asim has accepted all the allegations on him, claimed by investigation officer.
According to details, Dr Asim was preseted before the court in the city Court where he is likely to be given in the custody of National AccountabilityBureau NAB.
Investigation officer has claimed that Dr Asim has accepted all the allegation imposed on him.
Dr Asim Hussain has recorded a confessional statement with Judicial Magistrate conceding the allegations leveled against him, said investigation officer on Monday.
The statement was recorded under section 164 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) which deals with “abetment by public servant of offences such as taking gratification by corrupt or illegal means and exercise of personal influence.”
Dr Asim was accused of supporting terrorists and also have corruption charges on him.
According to Rangers officials, he was arrested as per Pakistan Protection Ordinance 2014.
Zardari’s close aide was arrested from his office and security officials also took important documents from his office along with them.
It is to be kept in mind that Dr Asim was Petroleum Minister in Pakistan Peoples Party PPP’s Government in 2008 and currently he was serving as the Chairman Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC).
