MQM, Ayaz Sadiq return in National Assembly

ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) legislators will return after spending over three months away from the Parliament’s lower house as the National Assembly meets today in Islamabad.

The house will take up important issues for debate besides legislative business and swearing in of PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq and two other newly elected MNAs.

Reports said PTI chairman Imran Khan will not be attending today’s session.

Schedule of National Assembly Speaker’s election will also be issued today. Voting will be held on Nov 9.

The ruling PML-N has nominated Ayaz Sadiq for the slot while opposition PTI has named Shafqat Mehmood.

Yesterday, MQM MNAs submitted separate applications for withdrawal of their resignations they had tendered on August 12 over reservation about Karachi operation.
