RAWALPINDI: At least three criminals were killed and as many arrested during search operation from city police in Rawalpindi in Thursday’s wee hours, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
A sub-inspector of Elite Force also embraced martyrdom during the action.
As per police officials, the search operation was launched overnight on intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the city area of Jorian.
During the police action, terrorists attacked them with an ensuing protracted exchange of gunfire with the security personnel.
The clash left a terrorist dead; however, three criminals were apprehended.
Elite Force sub-inspector Irshad also martyred in the action. Three other personnel sustained serious wounds. All of them have been rushed to Rawalpindi District headquarters Hospital.
Two extremists blew themselves up during the search operation.
Heavy reinforcements have been called in to nail the other saboteurs as well. Massive house-to-house search operation has been kick-started in the area.
