Indian bowler Zaheer Khan to announce retirement from international cricket today

NEW DELHI: Indian pace man Zahir Khan has decided to call time from international cricket, he will announce retirement today, reported Indian media.

The veteran pacer had been struggling with injuries for a lengthy period of time and has been in and out of the game quite frequently.

The star speedster last played for the national team in a Test match against the Kiwis in 2014. While he took seven wickets for Delhi Daredevils in the latest IPL season.

Zahir khan was part of 2011 World Cup winning Indian side, he has played 92 Test matches, 200 ODIs and 17 T20 matches.

In 92 Test matches, Zaheer has taken 311 wickets and is fourth highest wicket-taker in longer version amongst Indians after Anil Kumble (619), Kapil Dev (434) and Harbhajan Singh (417).

He played a major role in India’s 2011 World Cup triumph with 21 wickets in the tournament.
