DUBAI: Pakistan cricket team have been de-graded in recent International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI ranking despite series win against Zimbabwe.
According to latest ranking issued by ICC, Pakistan have been placed on 9th spot with 88 points while West Indian team is placed on 8th with same numbers.
Umpires’ controversial call to stop the match due to bad light factor when Pakistan was close to win it in second ODI against Zimbabwe resulted in a 5-runs lose for Pakistan which deprived it from two valuable points.
The incident also snatched Pakistan’s 8th spot.
Despite being on 9th, Pakistan have been confirmed among top eight teams to play last ICC Champions Trophy in 2017, as per rankings before September 30.
According to latest Rankings, Australia is on top, with India on second, South Africa on third, New Zealand on fourth and Sri Lanka on fifth spot.
While South Africa captain AB de Villiers tops new ICC ranking for ODI batsmen followed by his team mate Hashim Amla on 2nd and Indian Test captain Virat Kohli on 3rd.
South African leggie Imran Tahir has  grabbed top place in ODI bowlers.
