ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s critical defence analyst Zaid Hamid who had been in Saudi Arabia jail for over 4 months, has now been released, reports.
Pakistan’s local TV channel, News One has claimed that Zaid Hamid landed today at Islamabad airport from Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight.
However, Pakistan foreign office has not confirmed the news yet. Earlier, News were circulating that Zaid has been killed under Saudi custody, but it was rejected by his wife.
It is pertinent to mention here that Zaid Hamid was arrested two months back during his private visit to Kingdom with his wife for his controversial and hate-provoking speeches against Saudi Arabia. He was later sentenced for 150 lashes and 8 years in jail.
