Seized meat from Lahore was unhygienic, not haram

LAHORE: Director Operations (DO) Punjab Food Authority Ayesha Mumtaz has said Saturday that the seized meat from Lahore Railway Station was unhygienic, not haram.

While speaking to media in Lahore, DO said laboratory reports regarding seized meat has revealed that it was not haram, but hygienic.

Ayesha Mumtaz said that keeping her promise, she has made the report public.

She told media that two more slaughter houses in Lahore were raided and 1080 KGs unhygienic meat was seized today (Saturday).

“During food authority’s raid, government of Punjab’s official seals were also recovered which has left me in worriment.” She added.

Ayesha Mumtaz further said that investigations are being carried out to know how government seals were found in public slaughter house.
