LONDON: Former Pakistani all-rounder Azhar Mahmood said that planning of organizing Pakistan Super League abroad will hurt Pakistan cricket very badly.
Pakistan cricket board (PCB) tried to organize it in Dubai, UAE but cancelled its plans due to unavailability of cricket grounds.
While talking to local media Chairman PCB, Sheharyar khan said that this league is difficult to organize due to its uncertainty, so it’s better to cancel the plan.
However suddenly he negated his statement and claimed it will be organized in the next season which will not only improve our cricket but will also help and economic our financial needs.
Azhar Mehmood, further said even if the top ranking international players refuse to play in Pakistan due to security issues, Pakistan should organize league in Pakistan it will help Pakistan cricket.
He said it is very sense less thing that venues are available and PCB is delaying this league again and again.
He added that international players are not important in this league at the moment because it’s the matter of Pakistan cricket and this event will help Pakistan cricket a lot.
We need to work hard to make our security issues better then eventually international teams and international players will come to play in Pakistan.
“I know it’s a tough job, but we have to put some hard effort in it.”
He said I think plan of organizing this event in DUBAI is not a good idea it should be organized in Pakistan.
PCB is planning to send a proposal to the Olympic Committee in Qatar, there is only one ground up to the international level and Committee wants to host this league in February next year .
Azhar further said that this event will help in strengthening the domestic structure of Pakistan cricket which is suffering from bad phase.
“We need to enhance the quality not the quantity.”
He said our domestic structure is not up to the mark that’s why we are not producing quality players.
He urged PCB need to invest at the regional level and the results will be completely changed.
