GALLE – Indian spinners put Sri Lankan inexperienced batting line in trouble in the opening Test match of three match series at Galle International Stadium, Galle, Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankan team all out for 183 runs in their first inning of Galle Test. Skipper of Mathews scored 64 runs and remain top scorer for his side.
Chandimal also showed some resistance to Indian bowlers and played the inning of 59 runs. Ashwin’s deadly spell destroyed the deference walls of Lankan batsmen.
He took six wickets in the first inning. Ishant Sharma and Varun Aaron took 1, 1 wicket respectively.
Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews won the toss in the first test at Galle cricket ground in Sri Lanka, but his decision proved wrong by the Indian off spinner R. Ashwin who took 3 wickets just for 15 runs and put Sri Lanka on back foot already on the very first day of the test match at lunch time. Sri Lanka lost their first wicket on 15 runs after that Indian bowlers gave no chance to any Sri Lankan batsman to settle down.
Remember this is the last series of legendary Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara.
