Pakistani students deprived of scholarships due to procedural lacking: NA told

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly has been informed that due to procedural lacking the scholarship fund for qualified students have been lapsed during financial year 2013-14.

NA resumed its session in Islamabad on Tuesday with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair. The House transacted private members’ business.

Replying to a calling attention notice moved by Asiya Naz Tanoli regarding non-payment of cash awards to the students of Class V and VIII who qualified for scholarships in 2013-14 by the Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad, Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Usman Ibrahim told the House that funds for this purpose for the year 2013-14 have been lapsed due to procedural lacking.

He said now the scholarships are being paid regularly. He said Class V students are being paid 200 rupees per month for three years and for VIII Class students 300 rupees per month for two years. He said efforts are being made to enhance these funds.
