PIA promotes Anwar Ali to officer rank

COLOMBO: Pakistan’s young all-rounder Anwar Ali has hit the ‘jackpot’ after his blistering and match winning innings against Sri Lanka in the second Twenty20 (T20) at Colombo.

PIA spokesman said they were promoting Anwar Ali to an officer rank in the aftermath of his outstanding innings against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan were on the verge of a hopeless defeat in the match when Anwar Ali took the charge and sailed his team across with a memorable knock.

Pakistan required 66 runs of last six overs when Anwer started to take on Sri Lankan bowlers after skipper Afridi fell short of his fifty by 5 runs.

Anwar Ali scored quick 46 of just 17 balls and brought Pakistan close to an unbelievable victory.

He was awarded man of the match award for his match-winning performance.
