Former Indian president Abdul Kalam passed away

NEW DELHI: Former Indian and Atomic Scientist Abdul Kalam passed away following sudden collapse during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong.

Abdul Kalam collapsed during the lecture at around 6.30 pm and was taken to the hospital.

Kalam (84) fell ill at a function in Shillong and was rushed to the hospital, M Kharkrang, SP Khasi Hills, said.

Meghalaya Governor V Shanmughanathan and Chief Secretary P B O Warjri visited Bethany hospital where Kalam was admitted.
