Nawaz Sharif becomes first Prime Minister to visit Chitral in 16 years

LAYYAH – Nawaz Sharif visited Chitral valley on Wednesday and became the first Prime Minister of Pakistan to visit Chitral in 16 years.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif visited the Chitral Valley and took areal view flood hit areas.

According to detail, Nawaz Sharif inspected the relief and rescue activities in the affected areas of Chitral valley. Official brief PM on devastation cause by flood.

Officials also brief Nawaz Sharif about on going rescue operation in Chitral valley and isolated areas. This is the first visit of Pakistani Prime Minister in last 16 years.

Earlier, Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan announced 2 million rupees for goods for the fllod victims of Chitral. According to Pakistan Disaster Management Authorities, department working round the clock under flood action plan.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif also showed issued directions to field commanders to help the control the situation of flood hit areas.

According to Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday directs for provision of relief in emerging flood situation. Raheel Sharif said that relief activities were started in flood hit areas.

General Raheel issued directions for corps commander to remain in contact with the authorities. COAS also directed the field commander to vist the flood hit areas.

Chitral valley is disconnected fro other parts of country as 33 bridges destroyed as flash flood ravaged Chitral for sixth consecutive day on Tuesday.
