Flood in Pakistan: Chitral valley and 133 villages badly affected by flood

ISLAMABAD – Chitral valley is disconnected fro other parts of country as 33 bridges destroyed as flash flood ravaged Chitral for sixth consecutive day on Tuesday.

Main bridge linking Chitral to Matuj-sub division also washed away due to the flood. Emergency imposed in Chitral after flood. Roads that links Chitral to at least ten union councils also damaged.

130 villages of Punjab also affected by the flood. Rescue operation was started in Chitral and in different villages of Punjab.

According to details, three women were killed in Chitral valley but Provincial Disaster Management Authority claimed that only two person killed in deadly flood.

PDMA machinery is working on routes to restore the communication of Chitral with other parts of country. Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that more rains are expected in different parts of country during next 24 hours.
