PALLEKELE: Pakistan’s fledgling opener Shan Masood’s well-crafted, confident and patient ton has earned him loads of praise from legendary batsman Haneef Mohammad and urged him to praise his batting style.
Masood’s much needed century in fourth innings of decisive Test, that put Pakistan on winning track had been widely applauded in cricketing circles.
Haneef Mohammad, the veteran opening batsman commented that Shan Masood’s ton played a key role in Pakistan’s turnaround victory and that young opener has inspired him through his confident batting.
He went on to say that in the absence of Hafeez, Shan Masood filled the shoe brilliantly and made his selection count.
Earlier, Pakistan chased down a mammoth total of 373 in fourth innings of final Test match to win the sereis 2-1. This was the highest run chase by Pakistan in Tests.
Younis Khan’s 171 not out and Shan Masood’s 125 played an important role in the victory.
