PESHAWAR – Election Commission of Pakistan formally announced the result of local bodies election of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday.
According to the details issued by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), formal notification was issued to 35546 village counselor.
Notification also to the winning 1480 District representatives and 1567 Tehsil representatives. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf took majority in local bodies election.
PTI secured 370 seats in LB elections while Awami National Party (ANP) won 111 seats.
Earlier, on Tuesday the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) also issued a schedule for conducting local government elections in Islamabad.
ECP Additional Secretary Sher Afgan said that it would be the first time local government elections would be held in urban areas of the Islamabad.
According to the schedule announced by Election Commission, the dates for filling nomination papers are June 25 and 26, while the dates for scrutiny of papers are 29th and 30th June.
The revised list of candidates will be published on 6th of July, while the polling in federal capital will be held on July 27.
