FIA serves legal notice to Yousaf Raza Gillani

Islamabad: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has served a legal notice to former Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf  Raza Gillani on the issue of Turkish First Lady necklace.

According to the sources, the FIA has given 48 hours ultimatum to ex primier top return that necklace, otherwise legal action will be taken against him.

FIA has said that if Yousaf Raza Gillani doesn’t return the necklace within 48 hours, the agency will take legal action under Section 403.

Section 403 of Pakistan Penal Code-PPC suggest that “whoever dishonestly misappropriates or converts to his own use any ‘ movable property, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both”.

Earlier, then Prime Minister of Turkey, Rajab Urdgan’s wife had donated her necklace for the victims of floods 2010 in Pakistan, which was purchased by NADRA in 1.5 million rupees.

About four weeks ago, interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had raised the issue that necklace of Turkey’s first lady has lost, therefore he asked for the inquiry.

Later, ex PM Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has come up with the statement that necklace is with him because he considers Urdgan’s wife as his sister and he wanted to return the necklace to her.
