LAHORE – The Pakistan cricket team is all set to tour Sri Lanka at the start of next month, PCB officials confirmed. Pakistan will play 3 Test & 5 ODI matches against Sri Lanka.A series of two T20 matches will also be played.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka boards have confimred a three test and five match ODI series to be played in Sri Lanka starting from june 2015.
Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to announce the test squad within next few days. Though Pakistan has performed well in its last three test series against Australia, New Zealand and Bangladesh, so no major changes are expected in the test squad for this series.
Pakistan selectors are set to recall opener Ahmed Shehzad for the tour of Sri Lanka when they announce the Test squad for the series.
Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal is doubtful to get called up for the series against the Islander after he failed to impress on his comeback against Bangladesh with a revised bowling action. He was also ignored for the home series against Zimbabwe which ended on Sunday.
Bowling attack will include Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Rahat Ali and Yasir Shah.
Young players like left-arm spinner, Muhammad Asghar, leg-spinner Osama Mir and all-rounder Bilal Asif are also probables to get a call for the ODIs and T20s in Sri Lanka.
