Zimbabwe set massive 173 runs target against Pakistan in 1st T20

LAHORE: As international cricket returned to home soil after six years gap, Zimbabwe posted a massive 173 runs target in the first T20 at Gaddafi Stadium.

Zimbabwe posted 58 for the first wicket after winning the toss. At that time both openers were looking very dangerous as Mohammad Sami who was smashed for plenty in the first over provided a much needed break through to Pakistan.

Sami managed to pick two back to back wickets Masacadaza (43) and Sibanda (13) giving his team a great chance to get back in the game.

The Zimbabwean middle order batsman, Charles Coventry took the charge, smashing two back to back boundaries to Afridi and one more to Wahab on first ball of next over. He was unlucky to be misjudged caught behind by umpire Hasan Raza after adding 14 runs out of seven balls.

Skipper Elton Chigumbura took the charge as scored half century as he helped that side to reach the massive total of 172 runs on loss of six wickets.

Mohammad Sami took three wickets while Wahab Riaz picked up two for the host side.
