No “One Dish” Parties Anymore

LAHORE – The Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, ordered to strictly enforce the One-dish rule in the wedding parties, even he proposed to serve only soup and cold drinks in wedding in Punjab on Wednesday.

He said that it is poor families the provincial government set out to help by enacting a law of limiting wedding meals, giving them a way to avoid a cultural burden without feeling humiliated.

Making the very pocket friendly rule of enabling only soup and Cold Drinks in wedding ceremonies, he said that government is trying to make such rules which help poor people to dismantle societal culture of spending highs in the weddings.

While presiding the provincial cabinet meeting, he said that Pakistan is already facing a food crisis and this rule proves to be good remedy to counter food wastage.
