ISLAMABAD – After Nepal being hit by a disastrous earthquake, experts are of the view that a massive earthquake might be on its way to the Northern India.
After analyzing the tectonic plates and the regions like Kashmir, Hamaachal, Punjab, Uthrakand and Punjab, experts have forecasted that a massive earthquake may hit India anytime in the coming fifty days or so.
Director General of the Geology Department, B.K Rastogi, told that movements in the tectonic plates and huge interstices between them have been observed in some areas which have close proximity from Nepal.
He further added that whenever the pressure on these plates increases, the chances of earthquake to hit whole Himalayan region increases.
It may also be added that almost 5,000 are known to have died in Nepal and more than 10,000 people have been injured according to the National Emergency Operation Centre.
Dozens of people have also been reported to be killed in the neighboring China.
Experts have warned that the death toll may increase as the rescue teams reach the western mountainous areas of Nepal.
