KARACHI, April 24 (SABAH): Director General (DG) Rangers Sindh Bilal Akbar on Friday said that the election in NA-246 has proved that operation in Karachi is not against any political party in particular.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain had alleged that pillion-riding was banned by Rangers. Clarifying the position, DG Rangers said that pillion-riding was banned by Home Department, not Sindh Rangers.
Talking to media during his visit to Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry in Karachi, DG Rangers said that the successful holding of the election has proved that Rangers have come to Karachi for establishing peace.
DG Rangers said that all 213 polling stations of NA-246 were sensitive. He said that terrorist attack could have been carried out during the election but no such incident took place due to the effective management by police and Rangers. He termed it a success of all institutions including Sindh government.
