Three MQM’s ex-leaders turns out to be ghost employees

KARACHI: Three Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers have turned out to be ghost employees in different departments.

According to details, the employees include former MQM’s Tanzeemi Committee in-charge of Karachi Hammad Siddiqui while Waseem Aftab and Shahid Naseem were the members of MQM Rabita Committee.

According to sources, Siddiqui was appointed as director of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) health department on November 28, 1997. Though he was absent from his duties and still drawing a salary amounted to Rs 40,600 per month till date.

It is learnt that the former MQM leader was appointed as 19-grade officer at Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital in Karachi and later he was promoted to the post of director. Alongside Siddiqui, 41 other employees have also been detected as ‘ghost officers’.

On the other hand Waseem Aftab and Shahid Naseem were also appointed as grade 19 officers.
