Cody to start his acting career from where Paul left

SYDNEY: The younger brother of late Paul Walker, Cody Walker has decided to start his own acting career after filling in for the much-loved star on the set of Furious 7

Cody Walker, 26, confirmed on Friday that he aims to follow in his elder brother’s footsteps and ‘pursue a career in Hollywood’ while also continuing his work for Paul’s charity Reach Out World Wide.

He and his 37-year-old brother Caleb, feature as body doubles for Paul in the latest installment of the car racing franchise, with their striking familiar resemblance to the late actor helping CGI technicians to recreate Paul’s features on their faces to complete his missing scenes.

Paul tragically died in a single vehicle car crash in November 2013 at age 40.

About 70 to 80 percent of the film was actually completed before the accident occurred.

Cody is also set to star in a charity car show in Sydney at the weekend, to celebrate the release of Fast And Furious 7.

Watching the film back for the first time was an emotional experience for Cody who said on radio: ‘I purposely didn’t want to see it until the Los Angeles premiere on April 1, so that was the first time I’d seen it and it was really special.

‘I got to see it with everyone that had been involved with the making of the film and it was bitter sweet to have it complete and see Paul on the screen.

‘He was the real deal, he was just a normal guy just put in some extraordinary circumstances.’

It’s not clear however, if there’s a future for him in the car racing franchise which star and producer Vin Diesel has said is likely to have an eighth installment.
