Four death row convicts hanged across Punjab

ISLAMABAD: Four death row convicts were executed in different cities across Punjab early Tuesday morning.

A death row convict Ikramul Haq was hanged to death in District Jail Attock, Ameen was hanged in Rawalpindi city’s Adiala Jail, Hubdar Shah was hanged to death in Mianwali Central Jail and Muhammad Riaz was hanged in Sargodha Jail.

Ikram was given death penalty for kidnapping a three year old girl for ransom in 2002.  Ameen was hanged in Rawalpindi city’s Adiala Jail. Ameen was convicted of killing a citizen in 1998.

Hubdar Shah was given death penalty for killing two men over a minor dispute back in the year 2000. Riaz was awarded death penalty for killing two people during a robbery in the year 2000.
