KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has formally declared the missing flag-carrier MH370 an ‘accident’ and its passengers and crew ‘dead’, as well as announced for compensation payments to the victims’ relatives.
Malaysian Civil Aviation Chief Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said on Thursday, “It is therefore, with the heaviest heart and deepest sorrow that, on behalf of the government of Malaysia, we officially declare Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 an accident,”
He added, “All 239 of the passengers and crew on board MH370 are presumed to have lost their lives.”
The official announced the official decision that the missing plane faced an accident and the victims’ families could receive compensation payments from the airlines.
Malaysian airlines MH370 went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014 after inexplicably deviated to the remote southern Indian Ocean as per satellite data revealed.
However, the expensive search and rescue operation in history failed to get any firm evidence for any ‘accident’ of missing MH370 flight as far.
