LAHORE: Fourth death anniversary of former Governor of Punjab Salmaan Taseer got attacked by unidentified culprits on Liberty Chowk of Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab province.
Outrageous gang of unknown persons equipped with batons suddenly arrived on four motorbikes and cars at Liberty Chowk on Sunday evening and lodged attack on the participants who were lighting candles in the memory of assissinated former politician Salmaan Taseer.
Workers of civil society and media departments were also beaten by the outrageous gang. However, no serious casualties were reported in the incident as far.
It is noteworthy to mention here that Salmaan Taseer was assassinated in the federal capital Islamabad by his own security guard religiously-motivated Mumtaz Qadri over showing opposition to the Pakistan’s blasphemy law by terming it ‘black law’.
