Suspicious ‘Pakistan fishing boat’ blows on India’s maritime border

NEW DELHI: Indian Defence Ministry claimed to intercept a suspicious ‘Pakistani fishing boat’ which later blew itself after being chased by Indian Coast Guards at Porbandar, reports said.

The suspicious fishing ship reportedly laden with explosives was intercepted by Indian maritime guards on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1 in Arabian Sea near Indo-Pak maritime boundary, approximately 365 km from Porbander, Indian media claimed.

According to reports, four persons on board seemingly blew themselves after being chased by the Coast Guards for over an hour and shooting warning fires during the incident.

The ‘Pakistani’ fishing boat was intercepted by the Coast Guard approximately 365 km from Porbander which was moving on way from Keti Bunder near Karachi, Indian defence sources said.

Moreover, the reports quoted intelligence inputs received on 31st December that the boat from Keti Bunder near Karachi was planning some illicit transaction in Arabian Sea.
