RAWALPINDI: An Additional Session Judge on Monday directed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to file reply on a defamation suit filed by a former Member of National Assembly of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Hanif Abbasi.
Additional Session Judge Rawalpindi Abdul Sattar Gangah heard the suit filed by Hanif Abbasi. During the hearing, the judge was told that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had not filed comments in the instant matter.
Upon this, the judge issued directions to Imran Khan to file reply and adjourned further hearing of the case for January 8, 2015.
It is to be mentioned here that Hanif Abbasi had filed a defamation suit and demanded Rs 1 billion as compensation. Abbasi had stated that Imran Khan had called him as drug peddler and spurious drug sellers, adding that the comment had damaged his reputation and integrity.
