Jamaat Islami rules out possibility of mid-term election

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) secretary general Liaquat Baloch has rejected any chance of mid-term polls in Pakistan in near future.

Liaquat Baloch while talking to reporters claimed that there was no provision of mid-term election in the constitution, however, he vowed that JI would make maximum efforts to empower democratic institutions in the country.

While answering a question, Liaquat Baloch said that the government and PTI would have to show flexibility during upcoming dialogues otherwise both parties would not come through a positive conclusion.

He revealed that JI was likely to form an alliance with Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) in Gilgit-Baltistan in the next election while a local chapter of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) had already approached the politico-religious party.
