PTI links calling off protest with constitution of judicial commission

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has made it clear that it would not call off its ongoing protest movement till the constitution of a judicial commission for probe into the alleged rigging in last year general elections.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, PTI spokesperson Shreen Mazari claimed that the government had turned PTI’s Dec 8 protest in Faisalabad violent through a pre-planned programme.

She alleged that the plan to disrupt PTI’s peaceful lockdown call was worked out at Circuit House and PML-N was directly involved in it.

She alleged that Rana Sanaullah had only been removed from ministry, but he was still resorting to vandalism. She claimed that Rana Sanaullah had not only links with banned outfits but had his own ‘militant gang’ in Faisalabad.

She said that if PML-N distanced itself from the violent incidents in Faisalabad, it should arrest Rana Sanaullah. Without arresting Rana Sanaullah, justice could not be dispensed to the victim family, she added.

Regarding ongoing talks with the government, he said that federal minister Ahsan Iqbal will meet Asad Umar on Saturday while Senator Ishaq Dar will call on Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
