‘360 ghost employees suspended’ by Administrator Karachi

KARACHI: At least 360 ghost employees of education and health sectors were suspended during a surprise anti-ghost operation commenced by Administrator Karachi on Friday.

Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqi took a storming decision, apparently in the first phase,  against ‘ghost employees’ of education and health departments in Karachi.

Besides the action, Karachi administration started preparing lists of ghost employees present on various posts in different sections Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC).

Reports revealed that 12 doctors of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital were amongst the suspended ghost employees whom are allegedly working in foreign countries besides illegally getting salaries in Pakistan.

Administrator Karachi directed to present the suspended employees with their original services cards, otherwise the violators of the directives would be fired from their posts.

Administrator Farooqi was briefed about several other ghost doctors employed in Abbasi Shaheed, Lyari General and other government hospitals.

The investigators found the doctors working abroad, local media reported on Friday.
