As we all know that Pakistan can’t loss the series now because Green-Shirts are leading the three-match series against New Zealand 1-0 with last match remaining in the series. Pakistan dominated the first Test match as had they done against Australia.
But they made a big mistake by not going for the target in the last inning of the 2nd Test match against the Black Caps. Greens-shirts out-shined the visitors in all departments but couldn’t finish the job in the 2nd match.
Misbah ul Haq who become the most successful skipper of Pakistan cricket was also disappointed over the result of second Test match result. One thing is common in all those Test matches. You might have guess that.
If not let me tell you, Spinners have taken most wickets for Pakistan. Following the footsteps of Pakistan Team New Zealand is also eyeing to call their legendry spinner back in action for the 3rd and final Test. It is also a do or die contest for the Kiwis because they have to win to level the series.
But it seems to be impossible if we look at the previous performance of Green-shirts. However we can’t under estimate the Black caps because they also have match winners in shape of Brendon McCullum, Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson and it could be even better as rumous of  Daniel Vettori returns are on the verge.
Vittori hasn’t been in action in Test cricket for a long while, as he played his last test match against West Indies back in 2012. You might have guess what I am pointing on. If not so let me clear that spinner are the key on UAE pitches.
Similarly we can take a look at the performances of Pakistani spinners of those pitches, You will see majority of wickets taken by the spinners. For example all nine wickets were taken by Zufiqar barber and Yasir Shah in the 2nd innings of New Zealand.
So Green-Shirts have better chances of winning the Test series because of their spinner are in great form and with the induction of Mohammad Hafeez it could be even worse for New Zealand. However Kiwis are looking forward to use the same tactics against Pakistan and level the series.
The time will tell who will grab most opportunities and steal the show.
