‘JI Ijtema-e-Aam to pull nation out of despair and despondency’

LAHORE: Secretary General Jamaat e Islami Liaqat Baloch has said that the JI Ijtema at the Minar-e-Pakistan next week would be an epoch- making gathering of patriotic citizens and would pull the nation out of despair and despondency, and free it from the menaces of terrorism and extremism.


Addressing a press conference at the Minar e Pakistan grounds Saturday, he said that the JI moot would create an awakening among the masses, unite them and inculcate among them the confidence that Pakistan could also free itself from all foreign pressures, and rise as a developing and prosperous country.

He said that preparations for the Ijtema were going on all over the country and the enthusiasm among the youth, men and women and the students and the labourers was quite visible.  He said the people of Lahore would welcome the participants from other parts of the country as also those from abroad.

Minar-e-Pakistan

Liaqat Baloch said that the JI was both religious and political part that had introduced the culture of decency, honesty and dedication, courage and perseverance.

He said the JI believed that there was no rule, law or religion for the poor and the oppressed.

The JI wanted to unite the masses in the country for bringing about a blessed Islamic system in line with the Quran and the Sunnah and the country’s constitution.

JI Lahore chief, Mian Mqood Ahmed, told newsmen that the JI was expecting lakhs of participants at the Ijtema including foreign delegates from 25 states.

He said that adequate arrangements to accommodate the participants had been made and the foodstuff and other essential items would be available in plenty.
