Probe into Model town incident: JIT head to be from other than Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab government has decided appoint any official from outside Punjab to head the Joint Interrogation Team(JIT) to be constituted to investigate Model Town incident as per Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, Samaa News reported.

The channel while quoting unnamed sources said that Punjab government had taken the decision on the demand of PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri.

Former Inspector General Aftab Cheema, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Quetta, Razaq Cheema and current Director General (DG) Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Sindh  Shahid Hayyat names are under consideration to be made head of the team.

One of the above-mentioned police officer will be appointed as the head of the JIT after the PAT chief Qadri’s consent.
