LHC returns Gullu Butt’s application challenging sentence

LAHORE: Gullu Butt, who was involved in damaging vehicles in Lahore during the Model Town incident, on Thursday challenged his 11 year jail term in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The court returned his application after the objection that the power of attorney was not signed by Gullu Butt.

An anti-terrorism court had sentenced Gullu Butt to 11 years and three months in prison besides a fine of Rs100,000 on him on October 30.

Butt’s lawyer claimed in the application that his client was wrongly sentenced to prison because he was not involved in damaging any property and only broke glasses, therefore, the sentence should be reduced.
