Younis, Azhar break 34-year record against Australia

DUBAI: As Pakistan is in commanding position  in the 2nd day of second Test against Australia, Azhar Ali and Younis Khan broke 34-year old record of highest partnership for third wicket against Aussies on Friday.

They reached that milestone after adding 15 runs to their partnership on second day of the match. Both batsman so far made 224 runs for third wicket. Younis contributed 125 runs while Azhar Ali added 92 runs in the partnership.

This is the biggest third wicket partnership by Green-shirts against Australia for third wicket. The previous record partnership was made in 1980 between  legendary batsman Javed Miandad and Taslim Arif of 223 runs against Aussies for the third wicket.

Younis Khan is still out their on 125 runs Azhar Ali on 105 runs.
