Malala third Nobel Prize winner born in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Malala Yousafzai is the third Nobel Prize winner born in Pakistan. 

Dr Abdus Salam was awarded with the award in 1979 in the field of Physics for his contribution to electroweak unification.

Subramanyan Charndrasekhar who was born in Lahore in 1910 was awarded with the Nobel Prize in the field of Physics for his mathematical theory of black holes in 1983.

It was a key discovery that led to the currently accepted theory on the later evolutionary stages of massive stars. The  Chandrasekhar limits named after him.

Malala has been awarded the Prize for her struggle against the suppression of children education in Swat valley of Pakistan.
