HYDERABAD: Chennai Super Kings defeated Kings XI Punjab by 65 runs in second semifinal of Champions League T20 on Friday at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
Kings XI Punjab chasing down massive 183 runs all out on 117 runs. Only five batsman of the team were able to enter in the double figures.
Akshar Patel scored 31 runs while David Miller scored 22 runs in the team total.
Ashish Nehra picked up two wickets for Kings XI Punjab.
Chennai batting first posted a huge total of 170 runs after losing three wicket early in the innings.
Faf du Plessis played briliantly for his 46 runs while Dwayne Bravo scored brilliant 67 runs to guide the teams towards huge 182 runs total on loss of 7 wickets.
Parvinder Awana took four wickets for Kings XI Punjba.
With this victory Chennai qualified for the final of the tournament against Kolkata Knight Riders.
