Dasti’s mother had advised him not to resign.
Jamshed Dasti won elections in two National Assembly’s constituencies in the 2013 elections. His brother fought for the seat that he vacated but failed to win.
Because of his closeness to people of the area he is very popular. He belonged to the Pakistan People’s Party and won his first election on its ticket. But he contested the 2013 elections as an independent candidate.
