QUETTA: Renowned lawyer and former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, said that unconstitutional uprise is not possible now in Pakistan.
Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry revealed his predictions during dinner at Balochistan High Court regarding future of the country in light of current political situations.
Chaudhry advised the people with such thought to change their plans to think over uprise in the country via unconstitutional paths.
He said that democracy moved forward in a peaceful manner after 2013’s general election held during his tenure as chief justice of Pakistan.
He claimed that some people are trying to derail democratic system from its track, however, protests will be lodged against such motives.
The former judge of apex court said that poor sector of the nation was always used against democratic governments in past by the unconstitutional powers.
He demanded that democratic governments should present good governance in order to prevent for being questioned over the system.
He praised the efforts of Balochistan lawyers who gave significant sacrifices in the long march organised for the independence of judiciary in Pakistan.
Moreover, Iftikhar Chaudhry demanded special efforts to recover all missing persons and strict actions against the responsible.
