Petition filed in SC against PTI long march

LAHORE: Barrister Zafar Abdullah has filed a petition on Monday in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) to stop long march organised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Independence Day.


The petition was submitted in SC Lahore registry; stating that the demonstration would distribute the people into political sects on the Independence Day of Pakistan will be celebrated on August 14.

The petition also stated that citizens have the right to celebrate national day just like other Islamic festivals like Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha.

 “I request the court to order the government to stop Imran Khan’s long march on 14th August” he added.

PTI already announced to organise the public gathering at the D-Chowk at Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan.
